I have worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist for 38 years in the public educational setting. For 31 of those years, I specialized in the field of Assistive Technology and Augmentative Communication for children with complex communication needs. During this timeframe, I also worked as a member of a local special educational cooperative's Assistive Technology Team which supported both regular education and self-contained special education teams who educated children with complex communication and educational needs. These services included both AT/AAC evaluations as well as consultation services on the integration and implementation of the AT/AAC tools to ensure students' communication and academic success. I have presented on these topics at a local and state conferences.
