About

Randall's interests are in disability policy, human rights of people with disabilities, and (neoliberal) policy reforms. These fit into three broad areas: employment and welfare states, managed care and healthcare policy, and state (Illinois) evaluations. He is an investigator/co-principal investigator on four National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers (RRTCs): RRTC on Developmental Disabilities and Health (UIC), Family Support RTC (UIC), RRTC on Aging with a Long-Term Physical Disability (University of Washington), and the Community Living Policy Center (University of California-San Francisco). Randall also works on evaluations of state policy reforms (Support Services Teams, Short-term Stabilization Homes, closure of Jacksonville Developmental Center, and transitions from State-Operated Developmental Centers) and evaluations of agency/partner programs, notably the ADA 25 Advancing Leadership program that was designed to increase the participation of people with disabilities in Chicagoland civic leadership positions. Randall has taught/co-taught DHD 400, DHD 581, and DHD 582.
