Call to Action Event: Improving Employment Options for Refugees with Disabilities

The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) and Division of Rehabilitation Services would like to invite you to an afternoon of discussion, collaboration, and insight with Partners of Refugees in Illinois Disability Employment (PRIDE) and organizations serving people with disabilities.

This event will begin with a community outreach and resource fair followed by a program featuring IDHS’ Secretary Grace  B. Hou, IDHS’  Director of the  Division of Rehabilitation Services, Rahnee  Patrick, and  representatives from the Chicago Public Library.

Community Outreach and Resource Fair (1:00-4:30 pm)

Program (4:30-6:00pm)
The program will feature IDHS’ Secretary Grace B. Hou and IDHS’ Director of the Division of Rehabilitation Services, Rahnee Patrick, who will discuss the findings, conclusion, and success of phase one of a joint project between the University of Illinois-Chicago PRIDE and IDHS’ Division of Rehabilitation Services.  The goal of this initiative is to develop, field test and disseminate employment training and capacity-building programs that will improve vocational rehabilitation and employment options for refugees with disabilities in Illinois.
