Your success matters to us!

As a student in the College of Applied Health Sciences (AHS), you are assigned an academic advisor.  Your advisor wants to see you and help you with balancing your academic, professional, and personal needs. You can easily schedule an appointment or email them with any of your questions. Additionally, we try to provide as much advising support online as possible to work around your busy schedule.  If you have questions about where to go for advising support, please contact Student Affairs for help.

Schedule an advising appointment

Current students may make an appointment with their department advisor through the following links.

Intercollege transfer

As a UIC student, you may find yourself interested in changing your major. Each of our majors have slightly different timelines and requirements for transferring. Learn more about each of our majors and how to apply by attending an information session or reading more below.

Are you interested in any of our minors? Find out more about the minor that most grabs your interest. Once your minor is complete, fill out the certification of minor form.

AHS undeclared

AHS undeclared students should be working right from the start with their academic advisor on identifying degree programs, fulfilling prerequisites and establishing timelines. You may schedule appointments as often as you like via the iAdvise system.

The goal is to have you actively explore and declare a major within the first year of enrollment in AHS.

If you feel a little lost, not to worry, at the start of the fall and spring semesters, you will receive an email with a number of resources and events taking place for you to explore major(s) of interest.

Declaring a major

Applying for a major in our college does not guarantee your entry into a major. You will want to work with your academic advisor to identify an alternate academic plan should you not be admitted to your first-choice major selection.

  • For transfer students admitted to our college as undeclared, declaring a major must be done no later than week 12 of the 2nd enrolled semester.
  • For first-year students admitted to our college as undeclared, declaring a major must be done no later week 12 of the 4th semester enrolled or upon completion of 60 hours at the institution.
