Sangeetha Madhavan receives NIH grant to study home-based brain stimulation for people with ALS

Sangeetha Madhavan has received a two-year National Institute of Health (NIH) R21 grant for the project “Remotely supervised transcranial direct current stimulation for slowing disease progression in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).”

In this study, Dr. Madhavan and her team at the Brain Plasticity Laboratory will study the feasibility and effectiveness of a novel non-invasive brain stimulation paradigm, that can be administered at home with remote supervision, to slow progression of disease and preserve motor function in individuals with ALS.
