Paul D. Doolen Graduate Scholarship for the Study of Aging

For the 2018-2019 academic year, the University of Illinois System announces the competition for the Paul D. Doolen Graduate Scholarship for the Study of Aging, sponsored by the Retirement Research Foundation.

The purpose of the award is to stimulate and support interest in the study of aging-the biological or sociological aspects of aging or treatment of diseases of the elderly. Please display and distribute the enclosed announcement as appropriate.
Two $3,500 scholarships will be awarded for the 2018-2019 academic year to graduate students in their second year of study, or beyond, whose principal scholarly interest is in the field of aging.  One student will be chosen from the biological-biomedical sciences and the other from the behavioral-social sciences. Because the donor wishes this to be a “capstone” award, priority for awarding this scholarship will be given to candidates who already hold an assistantship or fellowship.

Applicants for the 2017-2018 awards came from diverse curricula (e.g., Kinesiology, BioEngineering, Community Health, Neuroscience, Psychology and Pharmacy).

Applications, which should be completed and submitted online, can be accessed at http://www.uaps.uillinois.edu/doolen. The online application deadline is September 21.
