Special announcement from Mary Keehn about the 3i Project

UI Health is in the thick of implementing EPIC as the replacement electronic health record (EHR) for the Cerner product that has been in use at UI Health for over 25 years. The implementation of EPIC is part of the larger 3i Project – a strategic enterprise initiative to create a state-of-art, enterprise-wide EHR platform that integrates optimized business processes with standardized clinical workflows and deep analytical capabilities. Short for “Integrated Information Infrastructure,” the 3i Project was born in 2016 in an effort to mitigate the risks posed by an outmoded, fragmented information system.

The go-live date for EPIC is May 9, 2020.  Current Cerner users will be assigned training in March/April 2020 and AHS faculty practices will become fully integrated in EPIC as part of the optimization process that will commence thereafter.
