Visiting Clinical Instructor , Occupational Therapy
Dr. Goodman developed and teaches "Promoting Wellbeing", a credit-bearing course which aims to support student wellness and academic success. She also teaches "Human Sexuality and Health Science" in the rehabilitation science department, and mentors undergraduate and graduate students. Her work at UIC focuses on mental health and wellbeing supports for university students. Leah serves as the faculty advisor for the Mental Health and Disability Alliance, sits on the Chancellor's Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities, is an Honors College Fellow and developed a Wellbeing module as an Inclusive Classroom Faculty Fellow in the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity. Dr. Goodman is interested in exploring the ways we define and provide student support, and seeks to develop initiatives that promote wellbeing, inclusion, health, equity, and student success. She received her MA in occupational therapy from the University of Southern California and her clinical doctorate (OTD) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Leah is dedicated to making education an accessible, positive and impactful experience for all people.
