Using Movement Biomechanics to Advance Sports Injury Management

We are proud to host an expert in the field who is recognized for his research aimed at understanding and enhancing the clinical management of orthopedic conditions, with particular focus on sport-related injuries.

Bryan Heiderscheit, PT, PhD is a Professor in the Departments of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation and Biomedical Engineering, and Programs of Doctor of Physical Therapy and Clinical Investigation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is the Director of the Runners’ Clinic through the UW Health Sports Medicine; Director of Research for Badger Athletic Performance with UW Athletics; and Co-director of the UW Neuromuscular Biomechanics Laboratory. Dr. Heiderscheit’s research is aimed at understanding and enhancing the clinical management of orthopedic conditions, with particular focus on sports-related injuries. He is Editor for the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy and a member of the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Sports Physical Therapy. Support for his research includes the National Institutes of Health, NFL Medical Charities, NBA and GE.
