Amy Hoang

Amy was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She graduated from George Mason University with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Studio Arts. Growing up, she was always intimidated by science. However, as she began to unpack the concepts that once challenged her, she realized the material wasn’t as unattainable as she perceived it. In that moment, she knew she wanted to empower people through knowledge the same way it empowered her, and to encourage scientific literacy and access for everyone.

Her goal at UIC is to learn about visual problem solving, effective storytelling, and incorporating different techniques. She is looking forward to connecting and collaborating with others in the field in hopes of optimizing learning for everyone.
