Meet Denise

Architect and Urban Designer

Why did you choose DHD at UIC?
My study aims to design, develop and apply interactive technologies that support learning and promotes social integration of people and families living with autism into mainstream settings and activities in meaningful ways. I chose DHD at UIC for its focus on applied research with a demonstrable understanding of Autism and capacity to foster field application.

What do you want to do with a DHD degree?
I want to foster effective approaches to creating inclusive environments. This may include applied research, publication of findings, and dissemination of knowledge that affects future educators, clinicians, public policy and advocacy experts.
