Meet Fani

Why did you choose DHD at UIC?
DHD emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach to disability studies and provides opportunities to interact with and learn from cohorts and professors from various personal and professional backgrounds.

What do you want to do with a DHD degree?
Change the world, of course! More specifically, I would like to conduct research that can contribute to state policy changes for young adults with disabilities transitioning from high school to post-secondary settings. And, ultimately, I would like to apply knowledge gained in Disability Studies towards educating the next generation of occupational therapists.

Research Interests
post-secondary outcomes for students with disabilities
socioeconomic impact on access to assistive technology
