DESCRIPTION:Please join the UIC Department of Occupational Therapy for the following Scholarship of Practice lecture series event:    Title: - Creating Tomorrow?s Practice Poster Symposium: UIC Class of 2025 Capstone Projects  Presented by: - UIC Entry-level OTD Class of 2025  under the direction of E. Peterson (Program Director) and J. Summers (Capstone Coordinator)  Date: 5.9.25  Time: 8:30-11:15  Location: This presentation will be delivered in person in AHSB Rm 713, 1919 West Taylor St.    RSVP is required.  Please use the following link to RSVP:  https://forms.gle/JBrPKqvfJyRr6zFQ7    Presentation Abstract &amp; Objectives    Each student from the entry-level occupational therapy doctorate (E-OTD) Class of 2025 completes an individual capstone project to demonstrate synthesis and application of knowledge gained in a focused area of study. In association with OT 678/Capstone Project 2, students, presented posters describing their capstone projects, under the supervision of their OT faculty advisors. Examples of capstone projects that will be described through this poster session include:     	Enhancing Home Safety Assessment Procedures in Clearbrook?s CILA Homes   	Self-Management Education for Adults Experiencing a Condition or Injury affecting the Upper Extremity   	Expanding and Enhancing Post-Secondary Education Opportunities for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities    At the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:     	Identify the needs addressed by the capstone projects undertaken by UIC E-OTD students in the Class of 2025.   	Describe occupational therapy practice implications associated with findings from the Class of 2025 capstone projects.   	Reflect on their practices to consider opportunities to collaborate with UIC faculty and E-OTD students on future E-OTD capstone projects.    The Scholarship of Practice (SOP) lecture series features presentations designed to share evidence-based knowledge relevant to occupational therapy practice. Department of Occupational Therapy is a licensed CE provider by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Occupational therapy practitioners currently licensed in Illinois can earn CE credit for attending.
