Clinical and Translational Research Methods: Enhancing a Practitioner’s Toolkit

Clinicians, medical students, research coordinators, and others who wish to incorporate clinical and translational research into their careers are encouraged to join us for this three day introduction to clinical and translational research methods.
Purpose:
We will introduce participants to the methodologies and technique required to conduct clinical and translational research. At the conclusion of the course participants should be able to:
- Convert research questions into specific aims
- Discuss a range of research methods and study designs
- Explore online bibliographic citation management software and navigate numerous proprietary databases available through the UIC Health Sciences Library
- Explain the ethical considerations of research, including requisite Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval
Cost: $150 for UIC attendees, $200 for non-UIC attendees
