Alejandro Carrillo receives Medical Organization for Latino Advancement and Michael Reese Scholars Program Scholarship

First-year MS in OT student Alejandro Carrillo has been selected to receive a Medical Organization for Latino Advancement (MOLA) and Michael Reese Scholars Program Scholarship for his commitment to addressing the inequities in Latinx health care. He is the first UIC OT student to receive this prestigious award, which is usually awarded to medical students. Renee Taylor, who serves as his mentor, nominated Carillo for the award and will support his research paper on COVID-19.
