Sara Sherman is named a recipient of the NSCA’s Women’s Scholarship for 2020

The National Strength and Conditioning Association Foundation is proud to announce that Sara Sherman has been named a recipient of the NSCA’s Women’s Scholarship for 2020. Sherman was selected by the NSCA Foundation Scholarship Committee after a thorough evaluation process of all applicants. This $2,000 scholarship is designed to support women, ages 17 and older, to enter the field of strength and conditioning.

Sara is a third year KN doctoral student and member of the Integrative Physiology Laboratory research team working under Tracy Baynard and Bo Fernhall. Her research interests include investigating mechanisms which drive blood flow during exercise in person’s with Down syndrome. She completed her master’s and undergraduate degrees at the University of Alabama and Michigan State University, respectively. Sara was a member of the Michigan State women’s ice hockey team as well as the women’s rowing team. She is a lover of all things sports and outdoors, when not studying you can find her on her bike exploring Chicago.
