Sangeetha Madhavan selected to receive a UIC Chancellor’s Innovation Fund Phase I Award

PT associate professor Sangeetha Madhavan has been selected to receive a UIC Chancellor’s Innovation Fund (CIF) Phase I award to develop a home-based telerehabilitation system for improving walking in stroke survivors.

The project aims to further advance stroke rehabilitation by providing patients the convenience of performing motor practice at home, while offering them to conduct highly-engaging activities in the context of interactive and engagingĀ  games. Madhavan will collaborate with BHIS clinical assistant professor Cristian Luciano and MAD Lab researchers among others.

The CIF Proof of Concept Awards program is a two-phased program that awards up to $200,000 per project to advance technology originating at UIC.
