{"id":19756,"date":"2017-02-01T12:49:58","date_gmt":"2017-02-01T12:49:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/pt-faculty-practice-hiring-worksite-wellness-program-technicians\/"},"modified":"2017-02-01T12:49:58","modified_gmt":"2017-02-01T12:49:58","slug":"pt-faculty-practice-hiring-worksite-wellness-program-technicians","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/pt-faculty-practice-hiring-worksite-wellness-program-technicians\/","title":{"rendered":"PT Faculty Practice hiring Worksite Wellness Program technicians"},"template":"","news_categories":[10,11],"news_tags":[],"class_list":["post-19756","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","news_categories-job-opportunity","news_categories-student-news"],"acf":{"intro_text_subtitle":"","intro_text_body":"<p>The <a href=\"\/physical-therapy-faculty-practice\/\">Physical Therapy Faculty Practice<\/a> at UIC is seeking Worksite Wellness Program technicians to assist in administering, scoring, and interpreting health related questionnaires and to perform health related assessments.<\/p>\n<p>The Worksite Wellness Program will provide services to the officers and staff of the <a href=\"https:\/\/police.uic.edu\/\">UIC Police Department<\/a>, with a goal of improving the health and wellbeing of its participants. The program follows a multi-disciplinary team approach to promote healthy lifestyle changes.<\/p>\n<p>The position currently requires 4 hours per week and a flexible schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assisting with health history questionnaire intake and data collection<\/li>\n<li>Explaining questionnaire and test protocol and procedures to the individual being tested<\/li>\n<li>Assess resting heart rate and blood pressure<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining equipment using appropriate preparation, utilization, and sanitization techniques<\/li>\n<li>Participating in care plan creation<\/li>\n<li>Tracking progress of participant care plan<\/li>\n<li>Complete proper documentation of health data<\/li>\n<li>Database entry<\/li>\n<li>Assist supervising staff as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be in good academic standing and have completed at least one\u00a0year of undergraduate course work from a major in the College of Applied Health Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel<\/li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with co-workers, participants and others in either a one-on-one or group situation utilizing appropriate language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be able to assess resting heart rate and blood pressure<\/li>\n<li>Be able to obtain basic anthropometric data (height, weight, BMI, waist to hip ratio)<\/li>\n<li>Experience administering health related questionnaires<\/li>\n<li>Accurately review and interpret clinical measurements<\/li>\n<li>Exhibit sufficient analytical ability to interpret and utilize a variety of information to determine appropriate plan for lifestyle modification<\/li>\n<li>Experience providing general health education to individuals or groups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To apply, please send your resume to Dr. Cemal Ozemek at <a href=\"mailto:ozemek@uic.edu\">ozemek@uic.edu<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","intro_text_excerpt":"A great hands on job opportunity for students","content_author":"","content_sticky":false,"intro_text_include_image":false,"intro_text_image":false,"intro_text_image_alt_text":"","intro_text_image_caption":"","intro_text_image_attribution":"","news_include_thumbnail":false,"news_thumbnail_image":false,"news_thumbnail_image_alt_text":""},"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":{"enabledWorkflows":[]},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/19756","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/news"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news\/19756\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=19756"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"news_categories","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news_categories?post=19756"},{"taxonomy":"news_tags","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/news_tags?post=19756"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
