UIC students provide support to youth and help them gain control of their health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nBeta Buddies must be an active participant during Monthly Social Events and supportive to AlphaBuddy through bi-weekly check-ins.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a01-2 phone calls\/week, attendance at monthly social events,<\/li>\n<li>participation at\u00a01-2 diabetes education classes with your buddy,<\/li>\n<li>messaging and communicating with AlphaBuddy outside of monthly socials.<\/li>\n<li>an open, welcoming attitude is a key part of participation as building a relationship takes time and effort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Calendar\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nMust be available for\u00a0monthly social events\u00a0that take place\u00a0once a month Saturday 12-3pm, starting from August until May as well as\u00a0trainingon\u00a0August 21st 5-8pm.
