This project will take place in the Fall of 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Award:<br \/>\n<\/strong>On May 8, Chicagoland residents gathered across the city and suburbs for The Chicago Community Trust\u2019s fifth annual <a href=\"https:\/\/onthetable.com\"><em>On the Table<\/em><\/a> \u2013 coming together in small groups for mealtime conversations to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing their communities and to share ideas on what they can do to make a difference. To encourage <em>On the Table<\/em> participants to move their ideas from discussion to action and support tangible activities that benefit neighborhoods, the Trust created the <em>Acting Up<\/em> awards.<\/p>\n<p>Working in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/goodcitychicago.org\/\">Goodcity<\/a>, the Trust gave away more than $150,000 to 37 projects this year \u2013 in an effort to help people to work together and take action for the public good. Over the past three years, <em>Acting Up<\/em> awards totaling more than $350,000 have been given to 167 diverse projects discussed during <em>On the Table<\/em>.
