{"id":20457,"date":"2019-07-10T11:35:50","date_gmt":"2019-07-10T11:35:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/wanted-participants-for-a-research-study-examining-the-effect-of-age-and-fitness-on-the-vascular-response-to-acute-inflammation\/"},"modified":"2019-07-10T11:35:50","modified_gmt":"2019-07-10T11:35:50","slug":"wanted-participants-for-a-research-study-examining-the-effect-of-age-and-fitness-on-the-vascular-response-to-acute-inflammation","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/wanted-participants-for-a-research-study-examining-the-effect-of-age-and-fitness-on-the-vascular-response-to-acute-inflammation\/","title":{"rendered":"Wanted: Participants for a research study examining the effect of age and fitness on the vascular response to acute inflammation"},"template":"","news_categories":[20],"news_tags":[],"class_list":["post-20457","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","news_categories-other-opportunities"],"acf":{"intro_text_subtitle":"","intro_text_body":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ipl.ahslabs.uic.edu\/\">Integrative Physiology Laboratory<\/a> (IPL) at the University of Illinois at Chicago is looking for participants for a research study examining the effect of age and fitness on the vascular response to acute inflammation.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking for <strong>young (18 to 35 years)<\/strong> healthy men and women who are <strong>sedentary<\/strong> (less than 30 minutes of physical activity per day) and <strong>older (55 to 75 years)<\/strong> adults who are either <strong>sedentary<\/strong> (less than 30 minutes of physical activity per day) <strong>or aerobically trained<\/strong> (aerobic activity \u226530 minutes on \u2265 4 days\/week).<\/p>\n<p>The study will involve <strong>3 visits<\/strong> and include:<br \/>\n1. Completion of health, nutrition, and physical activity questionnaires<br \/>\n2. Height, weight, waist, and body composition (DEXA) measurements<br \/>\n3. Heart rate, blood pressure &amp; non-invasive artery blood flow measurements<br \/>\n4. Exercise fitness test<br \/>\n5. Blood draw and Vitamin C consumption<br \/>\n6.
