{"id":20760,"date":"2020-06-10T07:35:14","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T07:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/ccts-announces-ay20-21-pilot-grant-funding-now-accepting-lois\/"},"modified":"2020-06-10T07:35:14","modified_gmt":"2020-06-10T07:35:14","slug":"ccts-announces-ay20-21-pilot-grant-funding-now-accepting-lois","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/ccts-announces-ay20-21-pilot-grant-funding-now-accepting-lois\/","title":{"rendered":"CCTS announces AY20-21 Pilot Grant Funding, now accepting LOIs"},"template":"","news_categories":[17,18],"news_tags":[],"class_list":["post-20760","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","news_categories-grants","news_categories-research"],"acf":{"intro_text_subtitle":"","intro_text_body":"<div align=\"left\">\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ccts.uic.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center for Clinical and Translational Science<\/a>\u00a0announces the availability of pilot grant funding for Academic Year 2020-2021.<\/p>\n<p>These pilot grant awards will be for\u00a0<strong>two years, up to $30,000 annually<\/strong> , with funding starting November 2020.<\/p>\n<h3>CCTS Pilot Grant Program seeks to:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>foster\u00a0outstanding new clinical and translational health research\u00a0at UIC by supporting the development of preliminary data that can be used to launch new NIH or other externally-funded research proposals;<\/li>\n<li>encourage interdisciplinary teams\u00a0of investigators that spans across Colleges and campus to develop collaborations or new research avenues;<\/li>\n<li>promote\u00a0interactions between basic, clinical and public health\u00a0scientists; and<\/li>\n<li>support research\u00a0collaborations with community partners\u00a0and organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Pilot funding aims to support multiple aspects of multidisciplinary collaborations that may lead to successful, extramurally funded research programs.\u00a0Aspects include but are not limited to:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>proof of principle studies for new methodologies;<\/li>\n<li>feasibility studies for patient recruitment;<\/li>\n<li>measurement validation studies;<\/li>\n<li>pilot intervention studies to inform sample size and power estimation;<\/li>\n<li>establishment of collaborative community partnerships;<\/li>\n<li>development of new technologies to address a clinical research problem;<\/li>\n<li>improvements in biomedical informatics architecture and\/or delivery of services,<\/li>\n<li>new methods for structuring or analyzing data sets;
