She will receive a $7,000 scholarship \u2014 commensurate with the cost of an entire course.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs an aspiring health information professional, I understand and know the challenges faced by many providers and patients when it comes to health literacy,\u201d wrote Brondell in her scholarship essay. \u201cDigital health literacy is crucial for patients when using online portals and telehealth platforms; patients deserve clear and easy access to their personal health information and reliable resources on how to use that information to make those same informed health decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brondell said this scholarship would greatly assist in reducing financial concerns and allow her to continue focusing on her education and career transition into the field of health informatics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe congratulate the recipients of AHIMA Foundation\u2019s 2022 scholarship program and send our gratitude to our generous donors and volunteers for making this program possible annually,\u201d said Anisa Tootla, AHIMA Foundation Executive Director.<\/p>\n<p>AHIMA Foundation has a storied <a href=\"https:\/\/ahimafoundation.org\/about-us\/history-of-ahima-foundation\/\">history<\/a> of providing financial assistance for aspiring and currently enrolled outstanding health information professionals pursuing associate&#8217;s, bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, or doctoral degrees in health information management or health informatics.
