Most\u00a0recently, she served as senior director of development for the departments of economics and art history as well as the College of Letters &amp; Science for the University of Wisconsin Foundation.\u00a0Torine was an integral part of the university\u2019s $4 billion-plus campaign, All Ways Forward, working with faculty, department chairs, board members and the dean of the College of Letters &amp; Science.\u00a0She secured more than $52 million during her nine-year tenure at Wisconsin, primarily for faculty support.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to Wisconsin, Torine helped build strong university-wide annual fund and reunion giving programs for Northwestern University, breaking the record for reunion giving with 46% alumni participation.\u00a0Earlier at Northwestern, she worked diligently researching prospects, managing data and writing gift proposals to build and enhance corporate relationships.<\/p>\n<p>Torine earned a BA in History &amp; French from Moravian College and an MA in History from Loyola University Chicago.\u00a0She enjoys reading, ballet, yoga, painting, drawing and slowly fixing up her home and garden. She lives with her family in Oak Park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am very excited to begin work at UIC and bring private support to such vital work,\u201d Torine said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel the mission and goals align with my passion for health and addressing the most pressing and immediate needs in our communities. I&#8217;m inspired by the work being done within AHS.
