Do you find the process of planning for the future overwhelming? Not sure where to start or how to continue with future planning?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If yes, you might be eligible to join the\u00a0VFIN\u00a0research study, which is testing the effectiveness of an online future planning training at the University of\u00a0Illinois\u00a0Chicago for adults with IDD &amp; their families in Kansas.<\/p>\n<p>The VFIN research study will randomly assign families to be part of the intervention or control group. All family caregivers will complete pre- and post- surveys and adults with IDD will complete pre- and post- interviews. Families assigned to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li><strong>Intervention group<\/strong>\u00a0will receive a 6-week training with weekly 1.5 hour Zoom classes and self-paced materials on Google Classroom.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Control group<\/strong>\u00a0will receive access to the self-paced materials, i.e. videos, and the \u2018Plan for the future\u2019 document after the post-test is completed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The VFIN training classes will be held from\u00a0Aug 27 \u2013 Oct 1,\u00a0 2024,\u00a0on\u00a0Tuesdays\u00a0and two Wednesdays from 6-7:30 pm CT.<\/p>\n<p>To participate,
