Salon Awards (Student)<\/strong><\/p>\n Leah Balsan<\/strong> (BVIS 2024) received a Social Impact Award for Mis(s) Diagnosis: Building Woman Back into Medicine, ADHD.<\/em><\/p>\n Susie Hammons<\/strong> (BVIS 2024) received an Award of Merit in the Didactic\/Instructional-Molecular\/Biological\/Life Sciences category for Hook Fish, Not Birds<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Salon Awards (Professional)<\/strong><\/p>\n BVIS Faculty Member Karen Bucher <\/strong>received a Social Impact Award for Sarcoidosis of the Skin.<\/em><\/p>\n BVIS alumnus Todd Buck <\/strong>(BVIS 1990) received an Award of Excellence in the Editorial category for Menopause.<\/em><\/p>\n BVIS alumnus David Ehlert\u00a0<\/strong>(BVIS 1997) & Cognition Studio, Inc<\/strong>. received an Award of Merit in the Interactive Media: Didactic\/Instructional Non-Commercial category for Gates Ventures: Type II Diabetes and Obesity Website.<\/em><\/p>\n Body Scientific International <\/strong>(team including work from BVIS alumna and Faculty Member Carolina Hrejsa <\/strong>(BVIS 2007) and BVIS alumna Monica Wierzbicki<\/strong> (BVIS 2020) received an Award of Excellence in the Illustrated Text category for The Foundation and Art of Robotic Surgery.<\/em><\/p>\n Body Scientific International <\/strong>(team including work from BVIS alumna and Faculty Member Carolina Hrejsa <\/strong>(BVIS 2007) and BVIS alumna Monica Wierzbicki<\/strong> (BVIS 2020) received an Award of Merit in the Simulators, Prosthetics, and Sculptural Products category for Pathways of Tear Film Production.<\/em><\/p>\n BVIS alumna Heidi Schlehlein <\/strong>(BVIS 2011) received an Award of Merit in the Editorial category for Body Image.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Other AMI Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n BVIS alumna Ni-ka Ford <\/strong>(BVIS 2017) was recognized as a Diversity Fellow of the Association of Medical Illustrators and for her commitment to creating a new digital library to expand the depiction of racial and ethnic diversity in medical illustration. The designation of Fellow is a formal recognition of those AMI members who have generously contributed their skill, time, and effort to the Association by performing volunteer service.
