Heather Prendergast (Emergency Medicine) and Spyros Kitsiou (BHIS) publish results of their NIH-funded research study in JAMA Cardiology","intro_text_body":"<p>In a newly published study in\u00a0<em>JAMA Cardiology, <\/em>UIC Emergency Faculty member Dr. Prendergast and Biomedical Informatics faculty Dr. Kitsiou, led a first-of-its kind NIH-funded clinical trial showing that a behavioral health intervention during an emergency department visit \u2014 brief pharmacist consultation coupled with\u00a0 patient-centered mobile health technology \u2014 significantly improved blood pressure control six months later.
