The Schweitzer Fellowship is a prestigious year-long service learning program for graduate students in health-related professions who design and implement innovative direct-service projects aimed at improving the health and well-being of underserved Chicago area communities. Annually, they select 26 graduate students from diverse fields\u202fto become\u202fFellows\u202fwho will design and implement\u202fyear-long direct service projects.\u202fThey are seeking University of Illinois at Chicago students to join the next class.\u202fIn addition to their service projects, other elements of the Fellowship program inspire and inform the Fellows, and reinforce their commitment to community service.\u202fThese elements include supportive mentors, trainings and workshops, and monthly meetings with a cohort of Fellows passionate about collaboration to improve health equity. Fellows receive a $2,750 stipend for their participation.<\/p>\n
