{"id":29820,"date":"2026-01-29T11:45:16","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T17:45:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/?post_type=news&#038;p=29820"},"modified":"2026-01-29T11:45:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T17:45:16","slug":"get-clarity-on-your-ccts-k12-application-deadline-february-23-2026","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/get-clarity-on-your-ccts-k12-application-deadline-february-23-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Get Clarity on Your CCTS K12 Application\u2014 Deadline February 23, 2026"},"template":"","news_categories":[12],"news_tags":[],"class_list":["post-29820","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","news_categories-faculty-and-staff-news"],"acf":{"intro_text_subtitle":"","hide_subtitle":false,"intro_text_body":"<p>The UIC Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is now accepting applications for the <a href=\"https:\/\/ccts.uic.edu\/k12\/\"><strong>K12 Clinical and Translational Science (CATS) Scholars Program<\/strong><\/a>, a two\u2011year career development award designed to accelerate the growth of early\u2011stage clinical and translational scientists.<\/p>\n<p>The program supports scholars across a wide range of disciplines\u2014including medicine, dentistry, nursing, psychology, pharmacy, engineering, and physical and occupational therapy\u2014who are committed to advancing clinical and translational research.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>About the CATS Program<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The K12 CATS Scholar Program provides:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Two years of support beginning June 1, 2026<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>$20,000 annually in research funding<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>75% salary coverage\/release time<\/strong> for research and career development<\/li>\n<li><strong>Robust mentoring<\/strong> from senior translational research faculty<\/li>\n<li><strong>Individualized career development plans<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Monthly career development sessions<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Subsidized CCTS support<\/strong> through Research Ally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CCTS anticipates funding <strong>two K12 Scholars<\/strong>, with the possibility of <a href=\"https:\/\/ccts.uic.edu\/k12\/rfa\/#selection-criteria\"><strong>4\u20136 additional Affiliate Scholars<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Translational Science &amp; Priority Areas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will consider a range of potential research projects across the clinical and health sciences and will work with funded scholars to develop and integrate an element of translational science into their project.
