March 16, 2026 \u2014 The second phase of UIC\u2019s traffic\u2011calming project near the hospital will begin Monday, March 16. This phase includes installation of curb extensions and a raised crosswalk across Taylor Street at Hermitage Avenue.<\/p>\n

Key impacts
\nTaylor Street will be closed from Paulina Street to Wood Street during construction.<\/p>\n

Detour signage will be posted throughout the area.<\/p>\n

A temporary patient drop\u2011off zone will be available on the east side of the hospital.<\/p>\n

UIC shuttle buses will be rerouted, with updates reflected in the UIC Ride app.<\/p>\n

Work is expected to take approximately eight weeks.<\/p>\n

Construction updates will be posted at\u00a0grenshawgarage.com<\/a><\/u>.<\/p>\n
