{"id":30723,"date":"2026-03-17T11:49:46","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T16:49:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/?post_type=news&#038;p=30723"},"modified":"2026-03-17T11:49:46","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T16:49:46","slug":"funding-opportunity-aauw-american-postdoctoral-research-leave-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/ahs.uic.edu\/inside-ahs\/news-stories\/funding-opportunity-aauw-american-postdoctoral-research-leave-fellowship\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Opportunity: AAUW American Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowship"},"template":"","news_categories":[17,18],"news_tags":[],"class_list":["post-30723","news","type-news","status-publish","hentry","news_categories-grants","news_categories-research"],"acf":{"intro_text_subtitle":"","hide_subtitle":false,"intro_text_body":"<p><em>Please encourage your postdocs to apply if eligible!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The American Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowship\u00a0increases\u00a0the number of women in research, development, and academic leadership, and promotes\u00a0gender equity\u00a0in higher education by providing funding to women in academia to pursue independent research over the course of a year.<\/p>\n<p>The Fellowship supports\u00a0early-career postdoctoral scholars\u00a0\u2013\u00a0within four years of receiving their Ph.D. \u2013\u00a0including\u00a0both\u00a0new applicants and\u00a0AAUW\u00a0alumnae.<\/p>\n<p>The Fellowship\u00a0is open to applicants in all fields of study, though those engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math fields, or those researching gender issues, are especially encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n<p>American Postdoctoral Research Leave Fellowships carry a stipend of $50,000.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will open August 2026.
