The Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is pleased to announce the 2026\u201327 Teaching Recognition Program (TRP), UIC\u2019s self-nominated, faculty-administered award recognizing teaching excellence.<\/p>\n
The TRP offers a one-time, $1,500 increase to the annual base salary of faculty who have demonstrated excellence in teaching over the past three academic years. Up to 16 faculty will be recognized this cycle.<\/p>\n
Eligibility<\/strong> SUBMIT INTENT TO APPLY<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Deadlines<\/strong> Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the award guidelines and explore the spotlight videos on the TRP webpage<\/a>, which feature innovative, evidence-based teaching practices from past TRP awardees.<\/p>\n Award recipients are expected to serve on the TRP Review Committee in a future cycle and share their teaching practices through panels or workshops.<\/p>\n We hope that all eligible faculty will take advantage of this opportunity. \nAll tenured, tenure-track, and non-tenure-track faculty with a demonstrated long-term commitment to teaching at UIC are eligible to apply. Applicants must have held a teaching appointment of more than 49% FTE for the past three academic years. A demonstrated long-term commitment is defined as continuous involvement in teaching at UIC during the Fall and Spring semesters of the previous three academic years (2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26).<\/p>\n
