She transitioned to an academic career at UIC in 2016 starting in the role of Visiting Research Assistant Professor,\u00a0then\u00a0transitioning into a tenure-track position. She is a human factors scientist, with research focus patient decision making and patient-provider communication, primarily in cancer spaces. She translates research findings to solutions that support safe and patient-centered care. Working in collaboration with patient advocates, she has served as PI and co-I of efforts funded by NCI, NCCN, and CDC.
