All students\u2014undergraduate, graduate, and professional\u2014who intend to graduate during a given term must submit an application for graduation by the\u00a0end of week 3 for the Fall or Spring terms<\/strong>\u00a0or by the\u00a0end of week 2 for the Summer term<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Graduation is not automatic and students must verify their degree completion within their academic departments\/advisors. Please read the instructions for submitting your application for graduation carefully.\u00a0Please keep in mind that submitting your application for graduation is not the same thing as submitting your RSVP to attend the Commencement ceremony.<\/strong>\u00a0Commencement ceremonies are typically held in December and May.\u00a0 Please visit the\u00a0UIC Commencement website<\/a>\u00a0for the most up to date information regarding the campus commencement ceremonies.<\/p>\n

NOTE<\/strong>: Students enrolled in 8 week courses will not officially graduate until the completion of the full 16 week term, even if their coursework is completed during Term A.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION DEADLINE for SPRING 2026 semester is JANUARY 30<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

  1. Login to\u00a0my.UIC<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Click on the \u201cStudent\u201d tab<\/li>\n
  3. Scroll down to the \u201cStudent Self-Service\u201d Main Menu and click.<\/li>\n
  4. From the Main Menu, select \u201cGraduate\u201d.<\/li>\n
  5. Select \u201cGraduation Information\u201d link.\u00a0 Read the Graduate Information page and Apply to Graduate steps.<\/li>\n
  6. Click\u00a0Apply to Graduate<\/strong>\u00a0at the bottom of page<\/li>\n
  7. Select the correct graduation term from the pull down menu and click \u201cSubmit<\/strong>\u201c.<\/li>\n
  8. Select the curriculum from which you are graduating this term and click \u201cContinue\u201d.
    \n<\/strong>NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0If your program information is incorrect, you will be able to make changes on the Supplemental Data page. If you\u2019re graduating from more than one program, you\u2019ll have to go back in and submit a second application for your second degree after you\u2019ve completed your first application. You can review your list of graduation applications by clicking the link at the bottom of the page.<\/em><\/li>\n
  9. Confirm the correct curriculum was selected and enter your \u201cGraduation Date\u201d, click \u201cContinue<\/strong>\u201c.\u00a0 Your graduation date may not be the same date as your commencement ceremony.\u00a0 Select the default date for the term.\u00a0 All students from UIC graduate with the same degree date\/graduation date, however their individual college\u2019s commencement ceremonies may be on a different date (i.e. May 5, 2022 is the AHS Commencement ceremony, but May 8, 2022 is the office degree date.)<\/li>\n
  10. Verify the name<\/strong>\u00a0you want printed on your diploma. Click\u00a0Help<\/strong>\u00a0for information on how to change your name, if necessary. If you need to update your diploma name, please contact the Office of Registration and Records at 312-996-4381. Click \u201cContinue\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0to move on to the next page.<\/li>\n
  11. Verify your diploma mailing address<\/strong>\u00a0and click\u00a0\u201cContinue.\u201d
    \n<\/strong>NOTE: Your diploma will be mailed to this address. If no diploma address is recorded, your most recent mailing address will be used which may not be accurate.\u00a0 Diplomas are generally mailed two to three months after graduation.<\/em><\/li>\n
  12. Review the application summary and click\u00a0Submit Request<\/strong>\u00a0after verifying application information. Your graduation application will not be submitted unless you click on\u00a0Submit Request<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  13. Review the Printable Application Confirmation page. If changes\u00a0or corrections need to be made, click the\u00a0Add Supplemental Data<\/strong>\u00a0tab and make note of corrections to your minor, concentration, major, etc. (i.e. \u2013 \u201cAdd Spanish minor\u201d, \u201cKinesiology concentration should be Movement Sciences\u201d,
