You\u2019re encouraged to meet with your academic advisor regularly to prevent delays in term of graduation.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate students must also meet deadlines set by the Graduate College. All graduate students (excluding professional Doctor of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Occupational Therapy students) are expected to comply with the Graduate College deadlines regarding thesis defense, format approval and graduation form submission. Refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/grad.uic.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Graduate College<\/a>\u00a0for deadlines and requirements.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">RSVP or register to attend Commencement<\/h3>\n<p>The campus has partnered with <strong>TASSEL<\/strong> to create our graduates\u2019 experience.\u00a0 The TASSEL system will create a display to show your\u00a0 name, degree, and major on screen as you cross the stage.\u00a0 TASSEL will also have professional name readers records your name to be played while you are on stage.\u00a0 All graduates who wish to participate in the Spring 2026 in-person AHS Commencement ceremony on May 7, 2026, must <strong>REGISTER to attend the ceremony.\u00a0 The deadline to RSVP will be in early April 12.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will receive an email about TASSEL with your <strong>personalized registration link<\/strong> in mid-March if you applied for graduation for the semester <em>(March 15 approximately).\u00a0 <\/em>You will need to create a password and set up your TASSEL account.\u00a0 If you do not receive a notification by March 15, please email the AHS Student Affairs Office at ahsinfo@uic.edu.\u00a0 Once you receive your TASSEL invitation, you can then:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Register\/RSVP<\/strong> for the ceremony.<\/li>\n<li>Create your\u00a0<strong>personalized slide<\/strong>\u00a0for the virtual ceremony<\/li>\n<li>Obtain your <strong>STAGE PASS<\/strong>\u00a0that will be used for check-in and announcing your name at the ceremony.<\/li>\n<li>Set up the<strong>\u00a0\u201cRecord your Name\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0feature on the registration form to ensure that your name is properly announced.<\/li>\n<li>Request<strong> GUEST TICKETS <\/strong>for the May ceremony.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>NOTE: TASSEL registration links cannot be shared between graduates as each link is customized to each graduate.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For those who are unable to attend the in-person ceremony, there will have a <strong>virtual ceremony page<\/strong> that will broadcast the webcast of the in-person ceremony and have a slide for each graduate.\u00a0 You are encouraged to customize your slide with a photo and personal message by the TASSEL deadline in early April (April 1 deadline). The slides can be downloaded and shared with family and friends, or posted to social media, but will not be used in the in-person ceremony.\u00a0 The link to our virtual ceremony will be available on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commencement.uic.edu\/\">university commencement website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Stage Pass<\/h3>\n<p>Once graduates register through TASSEL, they will be able to obtain a \u201cStage Pass.\u201d\u00a0 A Stage Pass is a personalized code that will be scanned at the commencement ceremony check-in and also as graduates process across the stage.\u00a0 The Stage Pass is coded to pull up each graduate\u2019s name and degree information.\u00a0 Please bring your phone to the ceremony or print out your Stage Pass, as you will need it to check-in and before entering the stage.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Cap and gown<\/h3>\n<p>Please note that academic dress is required to participate in the in-person commencement ceremonies.\u00a0 Students can purchase regalia through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sa.uic.edu\/uic-bookstore\/\">UIC Bookstore<\/a>.\u00a0 Orders can be shipped directly to your home or picked up in the bookstore.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, please see the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/commencement.uic.edu\/preparation\/caps-gown\/\">university commencement website<\/a>.\u00a0Additional graduation products can be purchased through the UIC Bookstore..<\/p>\n<p class=\"content\"><strong>Prices for regular retainable student caps and gowns are as follows (prices will be updated for spring 2026 graduates by early March):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors \u2013 $59.99<\/li>\n<li>Masters \u2013 $89.99 (includes a red stole)<\/li>\n<li>Doctorate \u2013 PhD \u2013 $99.99<\/li>\n<li>Professional Doctorate \u2013 OTD\/DPT\/DCEP \u2013 $159.99<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"content\"><strong>Academic regalia consists of the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor \u2013 Blue cap, blue gown, red stole, and tassel indicative of degree conferred<\/li>\n<li>Master \u2013 Blue cap, blue gown, red stole, tassel and hood indicative of College (gold hood and green\/gold tassel)<\/li>\n<li>Doctorate (DPT, OTD) \u2013 Black tam, black gown, teal tassel and hood indicative of College<\/li>\n<li>Doctorate (DCEP) \u2013 Black tam, black gown, gold tassel and hood indicative of College<\/li>\n<li>Ph.D \u2013 Red cap, red gown, gold tassel, and hood lined with red and indigo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Tassel color<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Science:\u00a0<strong>gold<\/strong>\u00a0tassel<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor of Arts:\u00a0<strong>white<\/strong>\u00a0tassel<\/li>\n<li>Master of Science:\u00a0<strong>green\/gold<\/strong>\u00a0tassel and gold-lined hood<\/li>\n<li>PhD students:\u00a0<strong>gold<\/strong>\u00a0tassel and a hood unique to your discipline<\/li>\n<li>Doctor of Physical Therapy:\u00a0<strong>teal<\/strong>\u00a0tassel and teal-lined hood<\/li>\n<li>Occupational Therapy Doctorate:\u00a0<strong>teal\u00a0<\/strong>tassel and teal-lined hood<\/li>\n<li>Doctor of Clinical Exercise Physiology:\u00a0<strong>gold<\/strong>\u00a0tassel and gold-lined hood<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A tassel is included with cap and\u00a0gown orders, but additional tassels are available at the\u00a0bookstores.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Latin Honors eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>Latin Honors are awarded to\u00a0<strong>UNDERGRADUATE<\/strong>\u00a0students who are earning a degree and whose UIC\u00a0grade point average falls within the following honors categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Summa cum laude: 3.90 and above<\/li>\n<li>Magna cum laude: 3.75 to 3.89<\/li>\n<li>Cum laude: 3.50 to 3.74<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The UIC cumulative grade point average must be at least 3.50\/4.00. Latin Honors designation for commencement purposes will be based on grades and credits earned through the end of the term prior to the commencement ceremony. Student records will be updated after final grades are posted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Latin Honors cord pick-up:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Honors cords will be distributed in Student Center East (SCE) prior to Commencement week.\u00a0 Details to follow.\u00a0 Cords will also be available on site at the commencement ceremony.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Diploma Information<\/h3>\n<p>Diplomas will be mailed approximately 4 \u2013 8 weeks after graduation. The printed diploma will be delivered to your active mailing address, unless you have created an active diploma address in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/my.uic.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my.UIC<\/a>. Addresses can be updated from the Personal Information menu. Any changes to the delivery address of the diploma after the last day of classes should be reported to the Records Office at 312-996-4381, M-F, 8:30 am to 5 pm.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"subsection-header\">Diploma Name<\/h4>\n<p>It is recommended that you access your final grade report via\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/my.uic.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my.UIC<\/a>\u00a0for your records. Your name as it appears in the portal as of the last day of classes will appear on your diploma. If you have a change of name that you would like to appear on your diploma, please complete the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.uic.edu\/depts\/oar\/forms\/csdnchange.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">current student diploma name change<\/a>\u00a0form to request changes to your name.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions, contact the Records Office at 312-996-4381, M-F, 8:30 am to 5 pm.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"subsection-header\">Diploma Covers<\/h4>\n<p>Diploma covers will be distributed to graduates participating in the in-person commencement ceremonies.\u00a0 For graduates who do not plan to attend, you may request a diploma cover be mailed to you.\u00a0 Please contact the AHS Office of Student Affairs at ahsinfo@uic.edu after the commencement ceremonies to make this request.\u00a0 Please be sure to include your name, UIN, and mailing address in your request.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Degree information<\/h3>\n<p>Degrees are not posted until after final grades have been submitted.\u00a0 The official degree date for Spring 2026 is Sunday, May 10.\u00a0 Once grades are submitted, each program begins the process to verify that all degree requirements have been satisfied for each degree candidate.\u00a0 The college then certifies degrees and sends them to the Records Office for posting to students\u2019 transcripts.\u00a0 Degrees for the Spring 2026 term will be certified between May 18 &#8211; June 5.\u00a0 Students in professional programs with pending licensure exams are expected to be certified the week of May 18.\u00a0 Degree dates for each term can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/registrar.uic.edu\/uic-faculty-staff\/calendars\/degree-dates\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"subsection-header\">Degree date<\/h4>\n<p>Although each college\u2019s commencement ceremony may be on a different date, there is one official degree date each term for graduating students.\u00a0 Generally this degree date is the Sunday following final exam week.\u00a0 For the Spring 2026 semester, the degree date is Sunday, May 10, 2026.\u00a0 A list of future degree dates can be found at the following <a href=\"https:\/\/registrar.uic.edu\/uic-faculty-staff\/calendars\/degree-dates\/\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Webcast<\/h3>\n<p>The ceremony will be livestreamed at the following link:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/go.uic.edu\/AHSCommencementLivestream<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">AHS Commencement Student Speaker &#8211; Spring 2026<\/h3>\n<p>You can submit your audition for the AHS Commencement student speaker using the link below.<\/p>\n<p>The Office of the Dean will begin accepting submissions for the 2026 Commencement Student Speaker in February 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Details on submitting an audition for commencement student speaker will be posted in early Spring 2026.\u00a0 A You Tube video of your <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=R80C4lZ6qkuZ4-O3Gnx33cX9h-gpuIlCtNUVP7cxJPpUOTFVU1BSU0ZHT1g2UUs3N1lLU0YyNFZCMy4u\">speech<\/a> should be included with your submission. The 2026 Student Commencement Speaker will be selected based on the following criteria: <strong>Presentation<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Content<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Engagement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=R80C4lZ6qkuZ4-O3Gnx33cX9h-gpuIlCtNUVP7cxJPpUOTFVU1BSU0ZHT1g2UUs3N1lLU0YyNFZCMy4u\">auditions<\/a>\u00a0should be submitted no later than\u00a0<strong>March 16, 2026.<\/strong>\u00a0 For additional questions, please contact Eileen Doran at <a href=\"mailto:eileend2@uic.edu\">eileend2@uic.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:\u00a0 Professional , graduate, and undergraduate students are all eligible for submission<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Nominations for Outstanding Teaching Awards<\/h3>\n<p>Graduating students can submit nominations for the AHS Excalibur Award for Teaching Excellence to recognize an outstanding instructor. \u00a0 The AHS Student Council will collect nominations and identify one instructor from each department to be presented with the Excalibur Award.\u00a0 Nominations are due March 16 and can be submitted via the following <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=R80C4lZ6qkuZ4-O3Gnx33cX9h-gpuIlCtNUVP7cxJPpUOFpTTEdaTzVZWkZDN1ZPNVFYNUg3UTFGRy4u\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">UIC e-mail address<\/h3>\n<p>Graduates from the Class of 2020 and later can request to keep their UIC email address and forward emails sent to their UIC address to a personal account of their choosing.\u00a0 Please following the following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/advance.uic.edu\/uic-email-forwarding-frequently-asked-questions\/\">link<\/a>\u00a0for additional details.\u00a0 Graduates must opt-in for this service using the following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/accountportal.uic.edu\/auth\/manage?dispatch=maildrop_panel\">opt-in form<\/a>.\u00a0 For Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 graduates, you must wait until your degree has officially be posted to opt-in to this service.\u00a0 Fall degrees are generally posted in early January.\u00a0 Spring degrees are generally posted by early June.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Announcements and class rings<\/h3>\n<p>Graduation announcements, diploma frames, and class rings can be ordered through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bkstr.com\/uicbookstore\/home\">UIC bookstores<\/a>\u00a0. Additional information regarding these items will be posted later in the spring term.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Seating and Venue Policies<\/h3>\n<p>Please note that all bags will be subject to search and all graduates will enter through a metal detector.\u00a0 Please refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/commencement.uic.edu\/commencement-day\/seating\/\">seating guidelines<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/commencement.uic.edu\/commencement-day\/venue-policies\/\">venue policies<\/a>\u00a0for more information about prohibited items.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"subsection-header\">Day of Ceremony Details &#8211; tickets, seating, and more&#8230;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>TICKETS<\/strong>: <strong>Tickets will be required<\/strong> for guests for the AHS May Commencement ceremony on May 7, 2026 in the Credit 1 Arena.\u00a0 Graduates are initially allotted a set number of tickets (~6) but can request up to 15 tickets.\u00a0 You may request additional tickets at commencement@uic.edu.
