AHS students: Participate in the Culture is Currency Challenge
Turn culture into creativity. Stories into innovation. Ideas into impact.
UIC students are invited to take part in the Culture Is Currency National HSI STEAM Innovation Challenge — a national opportunity to explore how culture, entrepreneurship, technology, and storytelling can create new possibilities for ourselves and our communities.
The Challenge starts with what students already bring!
Learners and innovators of all backgrounds are invited to recognize culture, creativity, lived experience, talents, family, and community knowledge as innovation assets, and use them to build ideas, develop skills, and create opportunities for the future.
What will you create?
Grounded in Apple’s Challenge-Based Learning framework, participants move from a meaningful question to research, exploration, and skill-building, then create and share a solution or digital product that advances social good.
The Culture is Currency Challenge experience is designed to build financial knowledge, develop future-ready skills, strengthen career pathways, and help participants explore and contribute to community wealth. Challenge submissions will compete alongside entries from universities across the country, with opportunities for national recognition, prizes, and other opportunities to showcase innovative ideas.
