On behalf of the University of Chicago Institute for Population and Precision Health, we invite you to apply to UP on EHS, an environmental health research training program for college students interested in careers in the environmental health sciences. If selected, applicants will complete two consecutive summers of full-time research in laboratories led by established Environmental Health Sciences (EHS) investigators, including Chicago Center for Health and the Environment (CACHET) members, at the University of Chicago or the University of Illinois at Chicago. Hands on research training is supplemented by an EHS summer lecture series, continuous career and skill development workshops, CACHET seminars, and faculty mentorship focused on supporting participants. Students chosen for the program will receive access to the following experiences and resources:
- Direct research training in an Environmental Health Sciences lab or collaborative research group
- Access to career development and professional skill-building workshops throughout the year
- Structured mentorship from faculty, research staff, and fellow trainees
- $3,500 annual stipend distributed across the academic year and summer term
