deCRIPtion:  storytelling and poetry workshops designed by and with disability community in mind

We teach one workshop a month. Each workshop is taught once in-person and once virtually.

In-person workshop
Workshop runs from 1-3pm, but you're welcome to join us for lunch at 12:00pm (vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options provided but please let us know what your dietary restrictions are so we can do our best to ensure you can fully participate and be in community with us.).

This series of workshops take place in scent-free space, please refrain from wearing any scented products. Please contact Joy Young at jyoung@accessliving.org  if you have any questions or access needs not covered or that come up after registration. Food will be provided at in-person workshops. When not eating, masks are requested for all people, unless it is in conflict with one's access needs. We will provide masks if you need one.

These workshops are brought to you by the Arts and Culture Project at Access Living, an independent living center for people with disabilities; Shirley Ryan Abilities Lab; and the Disability Culture Activism Lab (DCAL), a teaching lab housed under the department of art therapy and counseling at SAIC.
