Disability Rights Consortium – Dual Diagnosis
October 22, 2025
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Equip for Equality is thrilled to welcome Dr. Judith Cook and Dr. Caitlin Crabb from UIC’s Department of Disability and Human Development (DHD) for this month’s presentation on co-occurring developmental and mental health disabilities, often called “dual diagnoses.”
Dr. Cook and Dr. Crabb will share insights from their federally funded collaboration to create new tools and resources for providers supporting people with dual diagnoses in Illinois. Participants will get a first look at some of these materials and learn about ongoing efforts to strengthen service coordination and quality across systems of care.
This session is open to both legal and non-legal advocates, and anyone interested is welcome! Membership in the consortium list isn’t required to register.
Real-time captions (CART) and ASL interpretation will be provided. A session overview and any pre-read materials will be shared at least 24 hours in advance. For additional accessibility requests, please reach out by Monday, October 20 at 5:00 p.m.
We’re looking forward to this important conversation with Dr. Cook and Dr. Crabb on improving support for people with both developmental and mental health disabilities. Join us for what promises to be a meaningful and engaging session!
