Research Pathways Workshop with ASAP

February 5 - April 24, 2026

12:00 AM - 11:59 PM

Blue UIC Applied Health Sciences Research Pathways Workshop flyer promoting “How to Find Research Opportunities & Connect with Faculty,” offered by ASAP peer coaches Maya Dagamac and Kyra Dunmore. Includes QR code for sign-up, UIC Research Week 2026 dates (April 20–24, 2026), and a lab microscope image. Flyer highlights registration link go.uic.edu/ASAPPC and UIC branding.

Are you interested in finding a research opportunity but don’t know where to start? ASAP can help!

Sign up for the Research Pathways workshop with either of our peer coaches Maya and Kyra to find out more about how to find available positions and craft a professional outreach email. In this session, you will learn the following:

  • Identify professionals that you can reach out to
  • Discover strategies for finding research labs and programs online
  • Assess alternate pathways to finding research positions (such as through student orgs, LinkedIn, or Handshake)
  • Write a strong research inquiry email
  • Discuss how to network and build meaningful connections with faculty

We encourage students at any stage, especially those without prior research experience, to sign up with Maya or Kyra here: go.uic.edu/ASAPPC
