Presentation Abstract & Objectives
The AOTA Fellowship Program is a post-professional clinical experience designed to develop clinical experts and leaders in occupational therapy practice. Currently, 10 types of Fellowship programs exist, highlighting various specialty areas of clinical practice. Curriculum, clinical mentoring, and scholarly/professional activities guide each program’s outline to support the development of the fellow. In the Chicagoland area, there are three AOTA Fellowship Programs in the areas of neurorehabilitation, acute care, and critical care.
At the end of the presentation, attendees will be able to:
- Identify the 3 Chicagoland AOTA Fellowship Programs, including medical center, specialty area of practice, and setting.
- Identify and describe the 3 general fellowship program outline categories.
- Describe at least 2 ways an AOTA Fellowship Program can support an OT practitioner’s clinical growth and professional development
