AHS brand transition guide and upcycling outdated brand materials
Introduction
Our brand transition guide will help you assess where your brand appears, prioritize updates and access available resources.
- Start with a brand review. Consider where your brand appears in digital, print, events, promotions and physical spaces, and review your current marketing materials for outdated elements. Look out for old logos, legacy colors, former typography, previous templates, unused visual styles and inconsistent university naming.
- Review what to prioritize now versus what can be updated over the next 6-12 months. Use this brand refresh priority chart to determine which materials should be updated now or incorporated into future replacement cycles, and review our information below on repurposing legacy-branded materials.
- Reach out to us before making changes to major signage, wayfinding systems or other permanent installations
In partnership with UIC's Office of Planning, Sustainability and Project Management, we are collecting legacy branded items to divert them from landfills and transform them into something new. These materials will be upcycled through a future campus activation that celebrates UIC's evolution while advancing our commitment to sustainability and circular design.
As you identify outdated branded materials, please set them aside for collection rather than disposal.
