AHS IT Spring 2026 Update
A Welcome Back Message from AHS IT for the Spring 2026 Semester
Welcome Back, Faculty and Staff!
As we begin the Spring semester, the AHS IT department extends a warm welcome to all returning and new AHS members. We hope you enjoyed the holiday season! Below are some important updates and reminders to help you start the New Year:
What's New
Here are a few key updates:
- Adobe Software Renewal: Most licenses were renewed at the start of the Fall semester. If you haven’t renewed your Adobe license yet, please do so via the WebStore. Without renewal, you won’t be able to edit PDFs. https://webstore.illinois.edu/shop/product.aspx?zpid=6065
- CrashPlan Reminder: Campus no longer provides CrashPlan licenses. If your department didn’t purchase one for our computer(s), please ensure you’re saving to the cloud. Use department networked drives, UIC OneDrive, or Box for saving your data rather than saving locally to your PC/Mac.
- Campus IT Security Training: Windows 11: Technology Solutions will send out details about the annual IT Security Training in the coming weeks. Look for an email from: UIC Information Security Training with the subject line: 2026 Mandatory Information Security Awareness Training.
IT Support and Resources
Technology is essential to your daily work, and we’re here to help. Here are some ways you can reach out to us:
- Help Desk: Submit technical support requests at: help.uic.edu/ahs
- Classroom Support: FTE Helpdesk technicians will be stationed in PEB and DHSP for the first two weeks of the semester. Student technicians will remain stationed in those buildings for emergency classroom issues through the end of the semester.
- Training/Consultations: To schedule a classroom or conference room training session, submit a ticket here: https://help.uillinois.edu/TDClient/37/uic/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=886
Reminders
As we begin the new semester, please remember to:
- Report Phishing Emails: Please report any suspicious emails to AHS IT here: https://help.uillinois.edu/TDClient/37/uic/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=892
- Avoid Saving Files Locally: Save files to the cloud to prevent data loss.
We’re here to support you–so please don’t hesitate to reach out. Wishing you a successful and tech-savvy semester!
