AHS students: We’re in this together, and we’ll make it through together
Dear AHS students,
I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for making our transition to a virtual class environment a success. I am impressed by your resilience and dedication to your education.
I realize the uncertainty and reality of our current situation can create stress and anxiety. Although it is normal to feel some stress and anxiety, it is also possible to feel overwhelmed. The UIC Counseling Center has developed helpful information on how to deal with increased levels of stress and anxiety. I encourage you to visit the UIC Counseling Center website, which is still operating and available to you. Please take advantage of these resources and make sure you take good care of yourselves.
It is important that all of us follow the stay-at-home order and practice social distancing. However, this does not mean that you cannot connect with people using digital applications. Take this opportunity to stay connected not only with family and friends but also the AHS and UIC community on a regular basis using whatever platform you are comfortable with. Remember to participate in physical activity every day, eat healthy and seek help if you need it.
We’re in this together, and we’ll make it through together.
Stay safe!
Dean Bo Fernhall and the AHS Office of Student Affairs team
