DHD 548 – Assistive Technology Tools in the PK-12 Educational Setting (3 credit hours)
Course Description: The course focuses on various tools and training strategies designed to support active participation and learning for students with disabilities, ages 3-22.
DHD 568 – Supporting Augmentative and Alternative Communication in Educational Settings (3 credit hours)
Course Description: The course examines instructional and intervention strategies designed to support language and academic growth for students who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems in inclusive K–12 settings
DHD 551 – Access Assessment for AAC, Computers, and Mobile Technologies in Assistive Technology (3 credit hours)
Course Description: The course introduces the operation and use of alternative access methods for computers, augmentative communication devices, and powered mobility systems, with an emphasis on matching assistive technology solutions to individual user needs.
DHD 553 – Assistive Technology for Individuals Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired (1 credit hour)
Course Description: The course provides an overview of assistive technology for individuals with low vision or individuals who are blind, including screen magnification and screen reading software, optical character recognition (OCR) tools, braille technologies, low vision devices, and accessibility features on smartphones and tablets.

DHD 562 – Mobile Technology & Computers: Built-In Accessibility Features (1 credit hour)
Course Description: The course examines built-in accessibility features across major operating systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.
