Building Inclusive Resource Map for BIPOC Disabled Communities in Chicagoland

Flyer for the Resource Map Project by the Chicagoland Disabled People of Color Coalition. It features a map with resource locations and explains the project’s goal to connect BIPOC disabled people with inclusive and accessible places in Chicagoland. Three QR codes link to the map, database, and a form to suggest resources.

The Chicagoland Disabled People of Color Coalition, in collaboration with the Institute on Disability and Human Development, is proud to launch the Resource Map Project—a growing digital map designed to connect BIPOC disabled individuals and allies with inclusive, culturally affirming, and accessible resources across the Chicagoland area.

This map includes a wide range of locations, such as:

  • Disability-owned businesses
  • Mutual aid organizations
  • Public transportation hubs
  • Fun and accessible community spaces
  • Health centers and libraries

The project is still growing, and we need your help! If you know of a place that should be included, you can submit it at https://go.uic.edu/CDPOCC_ResourceMap_Form. You can also explore the map in two formats: a visual Google Earth version and a searchable database version.

Together, we can build a resource that reflects the diversity and strength of our community.
