BVIS student Justine Arizabal earns two awards at UIC Unreal Fest Game Jam
Introduction
2nd year Biomedical Visualization (BVIS) student Justine Arizabal recently participated in the inaugural University of Illinois Chicago Unreal Fest Game Jam, where teams learned Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and developed a game in less than two and a half days.
Justine and her teammates, Mit Patel and Avery Chang, developed a game inspired by the theme "City in a Garden." Their project earned 1st Place for Use of Theme and 1st Place Community Choice!
This accomplishment highlights the creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills fostered through biomedical visualization training. It also demonstrates the exciting ways BVIS students can apply visual communication, storytelling, and emerging technologies across a wide range of disciplines and media.
Attendees of Unreal Fest Chicago can view Justine's award-winning project, along with other Game Jam entries, at the Game Jam Showcase on Thursday, June 18, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Congratulations, Justine, on this outstanding accomplishment!!
