Cognitive Motor Balance and Rehabilitation Lab Engages Community at Pilsen Health Fair
As part of the Physical Therapy Department’s “Health and Wellness Week”, the Cognitive Motor Balance and Rehabilitation Lab, participated in the Community Health Fair in Pilsen on 8th June, 2024 at the Museum of Mexican Arts. Led by Dr. Tanvi Bhatt, the team equipped attendees with knowledge about fall risk factors and practical strategies to maintain their independence and safety. Bone density screenings were available for those over 55, along with personalized guidance on osteoporosis risk and its impact on overall health. Memory and balance screenings further illuminated the connections between cognitive function, balance, and fall prevention. By sharing lab expertise and insights, residents in the Pilsen community were empowered to make informed choices that promote a healthier and safer future.
