Flames Connect a night for students to network with alumni
Help invite alumni who would be great to connect with students
Dear faculty and staff,
The Office of Career Services is in need of our assistance in recruiting alumni for their upcoming program.
They are hoping you might be able you might be able to help us recruit UIC alumni to serve as “Alumni Hosts” for our second annual Flames Connect Networking Event, by sending the following message to former students that you may still be in contact with, along with other UIC alumni in your friend and family groups. Specifically, they are looking to recruit alums who are interested in sharing advice, knowledge, encouragement, and enthusiasm, in order to cultivate new professionals within their fields of expertise.

FLAMES CONNECT 2025 – Alumni Host Invitation
Career Services, in collaboration with the UIC Alumni Association, is excited to welcome alumni back to campus for the second annual Flames Connect Networking Event on September 24!
Flames Connect is an opportunity for students to meet with alumni from all fields and industries and gain important advice and mentoring on how to plan for a successful career with their UIC degrees! This is a casual event where “Alumni Hosts” will be assigned to tables throughout the Illinois Room (like a career fair), and students will visit the tables and ask questions about your career path, how you prepared within your major, advice for the future, etc. At your table we will have a sign with your name, graduation year, major, company/organization, and current title. You do not need to prepare anything in advance, and you are welcome to bring any materials you would like to share with students (information about your career, materials from your company, etc.). Staff from Career Services and the UIC Alumni Association will be on hand throughout the event to help students choose alumni hosts to approach with questions. Pizza and refreshments will be available for all attendees!
The event will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on September 24, 2025, with a 2:30 p.m. check in for alums to receive some pre-event coaching and have some refreshments.

Alumni who may be job searching are also invited to attend the event as “Alumni Job Seekers” and should choose that registration type when signing up.
