Help us strengthen food access support for UIC students
Introduction
In recognition of National Nutrition Month, we are inviting students to participate in a short survey about food access and awareness of the Applied Health Sciences (AHS) Food Pantry at UIC.
Food access is closely connected to student health, well-being, and academic success, and national data show that many college students experience challenges meeting their basic food needs while balancing tuition, housing, transportation, and other living expenses. Understanding students’ experiences helps us improve campus resources and ensure they are accessible and supportive.
We would greatly appreciate your help in reminding students to take a brief (3–5 minute) survey about food access and awareness of the AHS Food Pantry.
The survey will help us better understand:
- Whether students know the pantry exists
- What might make it easier or harder to use
- How comfortable students feel accessing the pantry
- What foods students would like to see available
Your support could be as simple as posting the survey link in Blackboard, mentioning it briefly in class, or forwarding the message to students.
